Punkin

And as the Pill Popper drew closer to the cat,
the normally only slightly psycho kitty
began her startling metamorphosis into
The Amazing Hulk Kitty,
striking fear into the hearts of all who ventured near!

MMMMMMmmmmm....GOOD stuff!

This is Punkin. She's our beautiful Tortie and has quite a history. In September of '95, Judi, one of my best friends in life unexpectedly died. The day that happened we got word that our Molly wouldn't last the week. It was a terrible week. Judi had adopted Punk only a short time before her death so Punk was still very tiny. She was pretty traumatized when Judi died. The circumstances were not great. When we brought her home she and Maggie hit it off pretty quick but it took her quite a while before she could hear a loud noise without being terrorized. She still doesn't like it. Several years ago she had to have surgery and everyone, including our vet, was sure she was going to die. It was awful. She stayed at the vet for several days after the surgery and suddenly, one day, she turned around and came home. She was supposed to be on lifelong medication which she HATED! She had to have a pill every four or five days and it was quite an ordeal for her and for us but we were pleased to do it! (Thank heavens for the "Pill Popper"!) But, to everyone's amazement, we were able to gradually wean her off the pills. She's on special food but other than that she's healthy and though still skittish, safe and happy. She likes to settle on my lap when I'm in the recliner with her favorite blanket. It's the only time she'll comfortably permit me to hold her so I take full advantage of it. She sleeps on the pillow next to me at night and wants to be petted the entire time she's eating.
