Norman's Future....

I have some definite ideas as to what Norman will look like in the future.  Once all of my projects are finished and he's what I would consider a safe ride I'll start on the cosmetic work (paint, new wheels, chrome, etc.).  For now, he's my daily driver.  Barring some crankiness from the old boy, he suits that purpose quite well, and I drive him to and from work (about 10 miles) each day.  I've taken some intermediate length trips with him (50 plus miles) as well, and other than throwing a fan belt, he's behaved quite well.

I'll eventually paint ole Norman.  Probably some shade closely resembling either 'Forester Green' or 'Swift Red.'  The picture on the left is of a beautifully restored truck painted the shade of green that I'm looking for.  Green's the color I'm leaning towards right now, but that's a while down the road and I might change my mind by then.  The two pictures below are representations (using Adobe PhotoShop) of what he might look like painted.  If you have a digitized picture of your truck on your computer (and PhotoShop) and need help colorizing it. Check out this tutorial. it might help you out.

For that old-timey look, I'll gear Norman up with some wide white sidewalls.  I'm not sure whether or not I'll be replacing the drum brakes he's got with one of those disk brake kits, but it's a possibility (safety first)

Norman'll definitely have standard hubcaps tho'.  I think they look great on these old trucks and those newer looking wheels just don't sit right with me for some reason.  to each his own, but Norman'll definitely have wheels that look like the picture to the left.
