I bought "Norman the truck" in November of 2000 for $1,500 from a college student at UC Davis.  She's the one who originally named him.  I think all old vehicles should have a name.  This truck is cranky and stubborn sometimes, and makes me think of that character Henry Fonda played in "On Golden Pond."  I can't think of my truck as anything but Norman now.  

   I originally made contact with the previous owner via email after seeing her add on Excite classifieds.  I'd wanted an Advance Design Chevy truck for years but had only been actively searching for one for about a year.  The night before I went to see Norman for the first time I was so excited that I couldn't sleep.  To keep occupied during the wee hours of that morning I figured I'd start a web-based journal about my adventure -- thus began this website.  I hope you enjoy reading the diary and find the links useful or at least entertaining.  Access the rest of the site thru' the green panel on the left.
