In older times, community would have meant barn raisings, neighbors arriving to help build a cabin in one day. It meant you were only as secure as those who live next to you-since your survival often depended on their friendship in hard times. 

Today we live in a changing world; people move frequently, older people and divided families often live alone, never knowing who their neighbors are. 

Today Community means caring for those families with ill members, gathering as a group in your local church, neighborhood watch programs, adopt-a-grandparent programs, girl scouts, boy scouts,  big brother or sister programs, cleaning our streets, mentoring youths, creating playgrounds, --anything we can do as an individual to make the world more positive place!
