group is a forum for us to discuss how to
save a little more of what we make for a rainy
day - and ways to hopefully make it grow a
little faster ! We help the new investor and
the experienced alike.
We believe highly speculative investments should be avoided. Specifically referring to day trading, options, and futures; these pose too much risk for novice investors; We focus on events that are affecting the markets in general and "how-to" information on things like savings, evaluating investment opportunities, 401K's...etc. Now, lets have fun! There is a lot of extremely interesting stuff out there - and one of the great joys of this process is the amount you can learn from digging through an opportunity. 
Recommended Reading Benjamin Graham, The Intelligent Investor Robert Hagstrom, The Warren Buffet Way Both of these approaches are inherantly very conservative - they avoid a lot of the hype we see in today's frothy markets and focus on the proven underlying value of the business. These methods missed AOL, Cisco, IBM...etc. But they made Warren Buffet one of the wealthiest men in America...with a compounded rate of return few can match. Read them. Next time someone calls (at dinner) with a "can't lose" investment opportunity in the latest e-widget...ask them what the value of their investment is....:) Remember..to win, you must first not lose.
