Transplant 25th September 2002
Meet Marisa, my primary nurse. Isn't she lovely?
She had just returned from Sydney with my donor's stem cells and came in to see
me - she even brought her husband in! This takes primary nursing one step further
by actually being involved in the collection and transportation of donor cells!
While I was being hooked up by Rachel, another of my wonderful nurses, we were all listening intently to Marisa tell us about how she brought the cells back safely.
And there they are!! A lot of fuss for something so small.
Chris and I have a cuddle during the transplant.
Dad and I have a cuddle too!
Danielle and I during the transplant.
Lauren and I during transplant - we had a busy night in room 5!!!
(Don't know if you can read my t-shirt, but I bought a special one because I was getting male donor cells. It read "Warning This body contains Adult Themes Nudity Strong Language!! Well..... :~P )
Mum and me.
We made Rachel take a break and have her photo taken during the transplant too! After all, she was the one responsible for it happening! She sat with me the whole time to make sure everything went smoothly. It did!
The wall I looked at from my bed! Isn't it colourful!?!
Thank you to everyone who sent cards to me during my hospital stay.
