I was chosen to be the 'pin-up' girl for Daffodil Day, a day set aside to raise funds for cancer research by selling all things daffodil - metal or cloth badges in many sizes the shape of daffodils, pens and real flowers.

Here I am in the local newspapers doing my job to raise awareness of cancer in general, but myeloma in particular! As a result of the article in my local paper (the others were in papers out of my area), I received a phone call from a lady who lives in the same suburb as me, and she has myeloma too! Neither of us was aware of the other until this article. This is great! I have already helped her and given her some interesting things to read. This is what it's all about, isn't it?! I hope I've touched a few people and told a few more about myeloma.

Newspaper article

Another newspaper article
This is my nurse, Fiona, and I being a bit silly when
the photographer took this picture.

Yet another newspaper article
Fiona and I again in a different paper. Don't pay any attention
to the hand written date, I think some-one got a little ahead
of themselves - these pictures were taken in August!

Me with a Daffodil Day pin
This is the picture that was in my local paper.
The article used my saying - "I'm the wellest sick person".
Touch wood this will last for a long time to come!

Henny and I
Meet my girlfriend, Henny, who has been with me through everything.
We went to high school together - gosh have we known each other
that long?? She was lucky enough to be at my house when the
photographer arrived, so she got roped into the photo session too!
That's what friends are for......right??!! :~)

Me and the daffodils
This was one of the photos taken but not used.
(I like this one the best)

Fiona and I with the daffodils
My nurse Fiona and I in another photo which wasn't used.
I have this one on my 'photo wall' in the living room.
Aren't we gorgeous?!

I found some more daffodils!
This is the photo the paper used.
(See the top picture on this page)
