"The Ballsiest Golden In The World"!!

Earnie at Sunol, in CA -- note the muddy feet! Age 2 1/2 or so!

Earnie freshly born, probably 10 minutes old!

Earnie & littermates doing lunch off Chloe, their mom!
You just have to see this! Michael holding a very young Earnie--I've never been sure whether this was a smile--or a grimace?? This was about the time Michael relented and said we could keep a puppy--!

Guess this shows I was a little sappy about the little guy, huh?
Earnie had already bonded to me, at the tender age of perhaps 3 weeks--while still in the whelping box. We were there at his birth, and took care of the litter every day until they were adopted out at 7 weeks!
Earnie at about 5 weeks, proof that Michael really did like him--even then!
Of course, that was long before he chewed up her antique chair--!
A very young Earnster after bathing himself in the water dish!
Earnie & crew dig in to the first solid chow!
Once upon a time, long ago--Earnie could fit in the kitchen sink! No more--!

Earnie has the most fun you can have in a Hot Tub! He continually dunks tennis balls--or whatever he can find if there are no tennis balls handy--into the Hot Tub. So much for a relaxing soak. Like picnicking with fire ants--!
Earnie in his "Golden Goalie" position! Once in a while I get one of those tennis balls past him--but not often--he's quick!
A close-up of a happy Golden. He with the most balls--wins! Earnie is in the lead in this picture. He keeps piling up the balls until I break down and play fetch with him!
Caught this picture just as a tennis ball whizzed past the "Golden Goalie"!
He was quick--but not quick enough! Hey, are those loose lips -- or what?
A clear example of what stuffing way too many tennis balls in your mouth does to your handsome profile--!

One of my favorite puppy pictures! Even at this young age, Earnie tagged along on our fall mushroom hunts! He wasn't very good at keeping up with the girls in the woods yet--but he learned to be a true "Forest Creature" at a young age. As you can see, this particular foray produced an abundance of Chanterelles--one of our favorite edible mushrooms! BTW--Earnie takes his with lots of butter, thank you!
Earnie wearing his Santa hat. The hat is a size large, but still way too small for his big old Buckethead!

This is the now somewhat famous Earnie 4x4 photo. This particular version of
it is being used on T-shirts by FDGRR--a Golden Retriever Rescue
organization out of Detroit, Michigan. My wife, Michael, managed to get this
picture by diving onto the rug and taking several pictures with a motor
drive camera! The more balls Earnie has--the happier he is! So far, this
photograph has grossed over $4000.00 for Golden Rescue! We're proud of this
shot!
