Welcome to an area that is very important to me, (and a fascinating hobby as well!) my Genealogy Database.
For the past three and a half years, I have been exploring a number of different genealogy sites, and finding a LOT of information, and some really nice, helpful people who are more than willing to help steer someone like me in the right direction. It is in that spirit that I present this section of my Web Site. I have learned a lot from these very kind, helpful people, and in return, I would like to pass along some of what I have learned in the hopes that it will help someone else in their research. By working together, we all win!
Eventually, I hope to turn my little part of the Web into a resource that will be of use to anyone researching families that lived in southeastern Pennsylvania during the colonial era, and during our first years as an independent country. That goal is still off in the future, but step by step, I hope to get there.
I started working on my family tree a little when I was in high school, but then put it away for 25 years, until November, 1996, right after my biological Father died. Since then, with the help of a LOT of people, I have been able to put together a database of over 37,500 people. We still have a lot more data to enter, but I wanted to make available what information I had now. When I did the last merger of my database with my cousin Larry Croll's, I lost most of my reference sources. I am now in the process of re-entering that information, and will post it once it is done. I will also continue to add updates as I enter more data, after I have this page up and running the way I want it.
I never would have been able to build this database to anywhere NEAR where it is today without the valuable assistance of some very helpful cousins. Larry Croll alone has provided over half of the data you see here, primarily people who are tied in with the Foose Family.
I have obtained much of the information of particular lines from the people listed below, so you may wish to contact them directly for more information about their family lines. I owe each of these people a TREMENDOUS debt of gratitude for their willingness to share the results of in many cases, YEARS of research. Without their help, I don't think this database would be 1/10 of its current size. I am probably missing some people here, and if I am, I apologize for my oversight. Please contact me, and I will add your name and e-mail address to this list.
I wish to thank the following people for their help in making this database as comprehensive as it is.
Dave Robison, Addis Researcher
Sue Chiaverini, Clayton Researcher
Erik Conard, Conard Researcher
Larry Croll, Foose Researcher
Andy Gammill, Foulke Researcher
Cathy McHugh, Hollingsworth Researcher
Rolland Madara, Madara Researcher
Larry Madara, Madara Researcher
Nancy Lodge, Shelmire Researcher
Joyce Zeigler, Tuckerman and Brown Researcher
Janet Suffren, Womelsdorf Researcher
In the hopes of possibly finding some other long, lost cousins, here is the Surname List for my primary database. Here in the main index for that database. I have added a number of other people to the database and have made some corrections to the data we have here since this was last uploaded. If you see any names that you would like more information on, or if you see any errors or omissions, please e-mail me.
One area which I am aware that I have numerous errors and omissions is with the dates involving the early Quaker families. This happened because when I was merging the databases, I had switched between several different programs, and somewhere in the transition, the dates did not translate.I am working to correct these mistakes, but it will take some time to do this. I hope you are patient, and keep this in mind when you are going through my data.
As I've been exploring the Net, I've run across quite a few sites that I've found to be quite useful. Here are some of those links.
