Legend has it that during the Spanish occupation, a weary traveler as lost in this small town and decided to approach a man who was constructing a fence around his yard to inquire about the name of the place. The man, who could not understand Spanish, thought that the traveler was asking what he was doing and quickly replied "bakod."
