Adelaide

Adelaide is situated in South Australia and is about a 10-12 hour bus ride from Melbourne. A lot of the early buildings int he city are made from stone used by the early colonists. Adelaode is labled a calm and civilised city in a wonderful surround. The city centre is surrounded by green parkland while the metropolitan area is bounded by a range of hills, the Mt Lofty Ranges, which crowds it against the sea.

Parks, gardens, boulevards and a pleasant southern climate, give Adelaide a distictly English feel.
Exploring north beyond the rugged Flinders Ranges, South Austrlia is home to the Opel minind town Coober Pedy, where residents live underground to escape the heat of the midday sun.

Just 35 miles from the city to the east, lies the rolling vineyards of Barossa Valley and some of Australia's finest wine regions. Take a wine teasting trip around the many small independant wineries and discover the feel of the Aussie wine industry.

To the South west sits a fasinating place called Kangeroo Island, where its resident sealions roam freely aorund in their natural environment.
