Perth, out in the wild west

Perth, situated out on its own in WA is home to around 1.4 million people. Perth is a vibrant and modern city, located on the swan river. The port of Freemantle and drmitory cities lie just a few km's down the river to the south.

One thing to note if you fancy Australia for some sun, Perth is reported to be the sunniested state capital in Australia although sadly the most isolated capital city in the world.

Perth was founded in 1829 as the swan river settlement. Bwtween then and 1850, things grew but only very slowly until convicts were brough in the alleviate the labour shortage. The majority of Perths' fine builds were actually built by the convicts.
Overall deveopment of the most western city was sluggish until the discovery of gold in the 1890s, this increased the population fourfold and initialted a buiding boom with in the city.

Perth, like most other Australian cities has its own atmosphere and the city has its own heartbeat.
The pleasant year round climate promotes an outdoor lifestyle, where al fresco dining and ornate parks bring a laid back air to the bustling cosmopolitan lifestyle.


Beyond Perth lies and array of natural wondersfrom the pertified Pinnacles and Wave Rock, to the Ningaloo Reff and the chance to meet and swim with wild dolphins and whale sharks! (scarey!)
