Darwin
The capital of Northern Australia expected by many as a rough & ready place is surprisingly easy going and cosmopolitan. This is mainly due to Cyclone Tracey that virtually flattened Darwin on Christmas day 1974.
Darwin is a frontier tow, with a fairy transient and heavy drinking population. Its easy to fall into the trapping of this way of life espcially when you consider the heat and the humidity of the place.
