.-) Goes To Montana

Elliot Harmon took .-) on a trip to Missoula, Montana from August 4-24 1998. This page is the email he sent me along with the pictures. It does enough explaining. I have some notes at the end. Click the thumbnails for the full effect of the pictues.

Quoth Elliot: As promised, here are some pictures we took of Pete on the way to (and at) MCT Performing Arts Camp. If I had it to do again, I would have made the card slightly bigger and darker. You'll just have to trust that he's there in some of the pics.

Tuesday, August 4.
Just a couple of hours into the trip, we stopped in Sturgis, South
Dakota in the midst of the world-infamous Sturgis Bike Rally. (1,2)
Pete really wanted to sit on a motorcycle, but we told him that he
might get his behind kicked.

Sturgis photo 2, try to find him.

Wednesday, August 5
We attended WCW Thunder live in Casper, Wyoming. Conveniently, Pete
was mistaken for a sign, so he didn't have to pay to get in.
Unfortunately, none of us are to be found on the video. As proof that
we were there, though, here is a picture (3) of Hollywood nWo making
their entrance, with assistance from a stagehand. (Yep, them nWo guys are pretty bright.)

He's there somewhere.

Thursday, August 6
We all made ourselves very tired by climbing Independence Rock,
Wyoming. (4) We saw some signatures of the original explorers, and
resisted the temptation to add our own.

That evening, we went to the Raspberry Festival in Bear Lake, Utah.
We had their famous raspberry shakes, but .-) wasn't hungry.

Friday, August 7
In Idaho, we toured EBR-1, the world's first nuclear power plant. (5)
(FACT: A quantity of uranium the same size as .-) can produce as much energy as
1,000 barrels of oil or 200 tons of coal.)

That day, we also saw Craters of the Moon National Park (6). Long
ago, it was used as a training ground for astronauts.

Ooooh, ahhhh

Saturday, August 8
We arrived at camp. For two weeks, I spent most of my time in
rehearsals and .-) spent most of his time on my bunk. Just to show
how open-minded actors can be, none of the guys in our cabin (7) even
questioned the fact that one of the residents was made out of paper.

Pete, Elliot, a bunch of guys that look vaguely familiar and MST3K's Paul Chaplin on the right.

Friday-Saturday, August 21-22
These were the dates of the performance. .-) spent the Friday night
show and the two Saturday matinees in my pocket, but got to see the
show from the audience on Saturday night. My brother said that .-) liked it.

The trip back home was comparatively uneventful, but you can say that
.-) has ridden down the famous Going-to-the-Sun Highway and been to
Glacier International Pleace Park in Montana.

And here (8) is the weary traveler. He was as tired and worn as the
rest of us, but still smiling.

Here he is, Montana Pete.

End quoth Elliot

These are the first photos we have of one of Pete's trip and I give my thanks to Elliot for providing them.
