Judging

Founded in 1999Mesweet's Award Site has been around since January of  1999.  The more I evaluate Websites the more experienced I become as an evaluator.  Do not be disheartened if you do not win one of  Mesweet's Awards.   I have been declined for awards and received from bronze to platinum awards, so you see how everyone's opinion is different.  To learn more about the ethics of  Mesweet's Awards Program then you are invited to read the Code of  Ethics.

Fairness & IntegrityI evaluate Websites on my own, unless there is a conflict of  interest.  To uphold Mesweet's Award Sites integrity and fairness to all applicants,  if a conflict of  interest arises then I will step down and Mesweet's Award Site Evaluators will review the site.  What is a conflict of  interest?  It is when I feel that I cannot view a site with impartiality, due to them being a family member, internet friend, or an acquaintance.  I want to make sure that all sites get evaluated with fairness and no favoritism seeps into Mesweet's Award Site Program.  The Fairness & Integrity Evaluators will be qualified to uphold Mesweet's Award Sites Criteria & Standards. I welcome my Fairness & Integrity Evaluators Shaun CollacoMarie (SweetRie)Jerry Hatzler, Dr. Bernard Bénichou  & Geoffrey Oddie to Mesweet's  Award Site Program.

The Point SystemThe point system I use to evaluate sites is listed in the criteria. If you wonder why some well designed and creative Websites did not receive a higher award from me, then all you have to do is look at the criteria and notice that 60% of the point system is based on content. While design, load time, html coding, and navigation are also very important, if you have all that with no content, then in my opinion you don't have much. This opinion only pertains to Mesweet's Awards, since they are a content award.

Evaluator EducationIn order for me to become the best evaluator that I can possibly be, I am learning how to evaluate sites in different ways by being an  External Site Evaluator for two outstanding Award Sites.  Nem5 Awards Program (evaluator since August 2000) and Steliarts Award Program (evaluator since February 2000).

Rewarding ExperienceWhy do I evaluate Websites?  It can be a rewarding experience.  Many sites that have applied for Mesweet's Awards are sites I probably would of never found if they had not applied. Some of these sites are truly remarkable web sites that I enjoyed and now have book marked. The content was valuable and well worth visiting many times. I am proud to have them listed on my winners list.
