Bora Bora

You have just arrived at the most beautiful island in the world.

Nothing I've seen beats Bora Bora with it's incredibly steep mighty volcanic peaks hovering

majestically above the wide and multicolored lagoon. All of this is surrounded by palm covered

atoll isles with cocaine colored beaches. This green gardenia scented island lies protected from

the thunder of the azure South Seas by the walls of a huge coral reef.

The week before I touched down here my camera broke down. Luckily my pocket camera

provided pretty good photos - some of which I've posted here. Notice how the Otemanu

and Pahia mountains dominate the scenes with their characteristic appearance constantly

changing with perspective. As you follow the coast around Bora Bora Otemanu always rises

high above you. Otemanu has never been climbed.
