Christmas in Singapore

It's Christmas in Singapore. Department stores in the main shopping districts compete to display the most spectacular Christmas decorations. Shoppers frantically purchase presents. Hotels advertise "Christmas packages". The mood is festive.

A Christmas Package Special at the Ritz Carlton Hotel

So, what did Wes and Masami do for Christmas? Since we're both in the software industry and were officially "on call" in case of any Y2K issues, extended travel outside Singapore wasn't an option. We considered a short trip to neighboring Indonesia, but eventually decided to treat ourselves to a 3 night stay at the Ritz on their Christmas Package.

Hotel Christmas Packages give a significant room discount and include a SG$50-100/day meal voucher. We viewed rooms and reviewed the specials offered at 5 reputable hotels and decided to splurge at the Ritz. Whatever the cost, it was worth it. This was our most romantic Christmas ever.
