The Galleria and Bacchus Champagne Bar on Regal Princess

A PARNAMI Cruise Page

Princess refers to the shopping area on Regal Princess as "the Galleria" and it's spread out over the second and third (Emerald and Promenade decks) levels of the Plaza Atrium.   On the second level are located Crown Jewels and Statements: Crown Jewels being the on board jewelry boutique providing the customary "10 dollars-a-carat" gem sales on up to some expensive and exquisite pieces.  This is also the venue for sales of "collectable gifts" of the Lladro genre.  Statements is the boutique for scents,  fashion cosmetics and  jewelry/accessory pieces.

Regal Princess, unfortunately taking a cue from the lower class "party type boats" forever fearful of losing a potential bar sale, has no on board liquor store.  Passengers wishing to have a bottle or two in their cabins must purchase them from the bars on board.  BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 2001, PRINCESS FORBIDS CARRY ON LIQUOR INTENDED FOR IN CABIN CONSUMPTION!  TAKE THIS INTO ACCOUNT BEFORE BOOKING YOUR NEXT PRINCESS CRUISE!  YOU MAY WISH TO SPENT YOUR VACATION DOLLARS WITH A COMPANY PROVIDING MORE MATURE TREATMENTS OF IT'S CUSTOMERS!  Princess ships now have "liquor police" confiscating carry on alcohol as do ships of Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Carnival, NCL and Costa.  Of the mass market lines, only Holland America retains a semblance of class!    Only at cruise end does Regal Princess permit on board sales of duty free liquor.  When it does, it is sold in the Statements Boutique.

Two additional shops are found one level up, on Promenade Deck.  To port side is located "the Steamer Trunk"  selling men's and ladies fashion apparel and accessories.  Directly across the Atrium is the "Signature Collection," containing Regal Princess' collection of logo merchandise, specialty souvenirs from visited ports of call, cameras, binoculars and sundry items.

Check your Princess Patter for daily specials offered by each of these on board shops!

Overlooking the aft end of the upper level of Plaza Atrium is located Bacchus, Regal Princess' wine bar.  This classy little bar provides the perfect setting for romancing over a bottle or two of your favorite vintage.  All that's missing are views of the passing ocean.  Oh well!   With its central positioning, when the seas get a bit rough, Regal's Atrium provides about the most stable location available on board.  In these circumstances, not having ocean views as constant reminders could be considered a good thing!
