Adagio Lounge on Regal Princess

A PARNAMI Cruise Page

Immediately adjacent to the Bengal Bar, Adagio is the second of these twin bars squeezed into the center of Promenade Deck.   Whereas Bengal expressed an exotic theme, Adagio's is a more formal, "high society" setting, that seems in conflict with this being the most lively lounge on board.   Adagio's seating radiates from the slightly raised central stage containing the lounge's piano.  Each evening, the piano player engages the room with his upbeat playing style and commentary.  Several times throughout the cruise, his version of Name that Tune packs the room and neighboring promenade areas to standing room only status.

The adjoining Promenades block any reasonable views of the Sea.  Long time former Sitmar employees, remaining loyal to that company like to point out that "Sitmar management wanted their guests to remain in contact with the sea at all times."  Fact is, unless you stretch, and look out over the inside promenade, through the window, past the outside promenade, and above the rail, views of the outside are non existent!  I'm amazed by how some people, despite evidence to the contrary, will continue to spout the company touted line.  I found myself at one point engaged in a conversation with one, otherwise bright, well spoken individual, seemingly, who couldn't see the hype for what it was: Fiction!  This guy belongs in sales!!!

Adding to the entertainment are a group of the most outrageous bartenders I've encountered at sea.  This gang of mixologists is comfortable in their positions, with each other, and most of all, with their passengers, and it's evident in their mannerisms.

Throughout the day, Adagio remains active featuring daily trivia, Pictionary, Scattergories, self improvement seminars, arts & crafts, What's My Line, wardrobe and makeup advice, Grandmothers get-togethers, Outburst and a host of other events. Passengers seeking something to do should stop by Adagio.  There's certain to be something going on!  For popular events, arrive early!  Even with standing room only, the lounge is too small, properly, to accommodate everyone that will be interested!   It's just the best there is to be found on Regal Princess.
