![]() The Stage Door on Regal Princess
A PARNAMI Cruise Page
Located on Dolphin deck, directly above the Atrium, the Stage Door serves as Regal Princess late night "party" lounge. For those seeking activity after the rest of the ship has "gone to bed", this is the place to find it! Dominating the lounge is a sunken wooden dance floor, providing "head room" enough for athletically minded dance couples to perform their gyrations without fear of sending one of them soaring up and through the ceiling! Table groupings look down from both sides with the friendly bar placed forward, the band stage located aft.
For me, noise is a concern when I see a mid-ship located late night dance club. On Regal Princess, while the space below and forward of the Stage Door is occupied by public rooms; there are passenger accommodations aft and above it. With the heavy bass that often stems from disco type venues, my concern is that passengers unfortunate to reside in these areas will find their sleep disturbed until late into the night. I'm happy to report that the designers seem to have taken such disturbances into consideration and I noticed little in the way of extreme sound in the cabin corridors immediately aft of the Lounge doors. Cabins on the deck above are limited to outsides, with none placed directly over the band and dance floors. Noise emanations should be minimal, if they exist at all.
Stage Door serves as the venue for: Bridge get-togethers and lectures, and, dance lessons. Evening activities begin about 7:30 with a live band playing until about 11 at which time the DJ takes over and the Party begins! For those seeking to meet up with members of the ship's staff, THIS is the time and place to do so!
