3pt Field Goals: Sullivan 0, Hannan 6 (Weber-5, Mack-1)
| Commentary: Sullivan came out strong against Archbishop Hannan Tuesday night at the Temple of Doom. Hannan could not stop the warrior offense with it's man to man defense, so they switched to a 2/3 zone. Sullivan did a poor job shooting from the 3pt line, but good penetration opened up Hannan's zone. Despite being in early foul trouble, Sammy D'agostino had a good ofensive performance along with Jeff Farr and Brent Thompson. Coach Hart said, "if Sammy would have done a better job jump stoping instead of gliding to the goal he would not have encountered such foul trouble, and God only knows how many points he would have had." "Brent Thompson really came out of a slump tonight." "He played the game with enthusiasm and led his troop to victory." "The only problem I saw in this game is that we did a poor job on the boards." "We let them get way to many second chances to score." "Besides that I feel we played a good game." The Warriors will play at Independence Friday night with the JV game starting at 5:30 and the Varsity game will start at Approx. 7:00. See ya there! |

3pt Field Goals: Sullivan 0, West Feliciana 3
Commentary: The Warriors really came out on a mission against West Feliciana at Tuesday nights game. Led by Sammy D'agostino, the Warriors did a great job attacking the Saint's different defenses. D'agostino had a great overall perfomance scoring 20 points and playing great defense. The only weakness in his game was he was 8 for 16 from the free throw line. Jeff Farr also hade a good offensive performance scoring 13 without hitting any 3pt field goals. The Warriors came out sluggish in the 3rd quater and the Saints made a run, but the Warriors were able to get back on track an hold of the Saint's attack. The Warriors could have really put the Saints away if they would have done a better job from the free throw line. The Warriors were 23 for 40 from the line and were 12 for 20 in the fourth quater. Coach Hart said "if we would have shot better from the line we would have put this team away real early." "I am proud that we were able to get back on track in the 3rd Quater and hold of their run." "Sammy really had a great game tonight offensively and defensively." "When he goes hard to the goal and finishes he is a tremendous threat for us." "I am also very proud of Bill Mosby, because he came off the bench for us tonight and really did a great job." "When we execute offensively, play good defense, and keep other team's off the boards we are a great team." "Hopefully we will build on this win, have a few great practices, and be prepared for our District opener next Tuesday night vs. Lee High." Coach Fernandez said " we have got to have more consistency from this team." "We need to show up every night ready for battle." "No game we will play for the rest of the season will be easy, so we must work hard to earn our wins." "Hopefully the guys undersatnd that I am prroud of them for winning, but I am not satisfied until we start playing good on a more consistent basis." Way to go Warriors! Dedication+Devotion+Desire= Sucess!

3pt Field Goals: Sullivan 4 (Farr-2, D'agostino-1, Mosby-1) Albany 5 (Stilley-2, Kimble-1, Pendarvis-1, Picou-1)
Commentary: The Warriors really came to play against Albany on Friday night. The game was close for the first quater, but after the Warriors warned up the blew Albany away. Led by outstanding performances by Jeff Farr and Samuel D'agostino the Warriors dominated Albany's defensive attack. Two key three pointers by Jeff Farr really blew the game wide open. Brent Thompson also had a stellar night with 12 assists. Coach Hart said "we really came to play tonight." " Jeff Farr and Samuel D'agostino were unstopable on the offensive end tonight." "Also Brent Thompson really did a great job leading the fast breaks and did a great job feeding the ball to our scorers." "We did what a good team does to a bad team, and that is blew them out of the gym." " I am really proud of the guys." "Hopefully they will carry this intensity into district play." Coach Fernandez said " we played great team defense tonight." "We frustrated Albany and they took bad shots giving us the opportunity to push the ball up the floor." " Sammy and Jeff put on a clinic tonight on the offensive end tonight." "We put all of the little pieces together tonight and really put on a show." District play starts Tuesday night at Sullivan. The Warriors will take on the Lee High Rebels at 7:00. Good Luck Warriors!

3pt Field Goals: Sullivan 2 (Farr-2) Albany 4 (Holliday-3, Wilkinson-1)
Commentary: The Warriors faced the Lee High Rebels in tonights District opener. Sullivan came out shooting well against the Rebels 3/2 Zone in the first quater, but went ice cold in the second. Sullivan went into halftime with a 1 point defeciet. In the 3rd quater the game was tight due to even scoring by both teams. In the 4th Quater the Warriors had some costly turn-overs and missed some easy buckets. Lee High began to make the warriors pay for their mistakes. The Warriors started fouling Lee, but the Rebels were able to convert teir free throws and win this District opener. D'agostino and Farr led in scoring for the Warriors. Joe Holliday, a sophomore, led the Rebels with 21 points including 3 Three pointers. Wilkinson ended up with 6 points and Hargrove contributed 3. Coach Hart said " I believe we lost this game in the 2nd quater when we were unable to produce on the offensive end." "We had them on the ropes but we could not put them away." "Late in the game we made some costly turn-overs and missed some key shots and the Rebels were able to convert on both of our downfalls." " The guys did a great job on the Defensive end and they really played with alot of heart." "We cannot make mistakes and win games in our District." "We play in a difficult District that will not allow us to have an off night on any details our game." "We must regroup and move on from this game." "We must learn from our mistakes and do what it takes to fix them." "We need more production from more players because 38 points will not win in our District no matter how good you play defense." "Lee ran a zone all night and we really didn't have enough interior production." "We need 4 players in double digits or we are in trouble!" "We did do a better job on the boards tonight, for that I congratulate the team." "Until we put it all together at the same time we are gonna be in trouble." The Warriors are off Friday night and will resume District play next Tuesday versus Woodlawn. See ya there!

3pt Field Goals: Sullivan 6 (Thompson-2, Farr-1, Mosby-1, D'agostino-1) Woodlawn 7 ( Ray-3, Snoddy-2, Coleman-1, Knighten-1)
Commentary: The Warriors faced the Woodlawn Panthers at Woodlawn Tuesday night. Sullivan came out confused against the panthers and faced a 17 point defeceit at the end of the first quater. D'agostino heated up in the 2nd quater and contributed 11 of the Warriors 19 2nd quater points. At the closing seconds of the half Jeff Farr missed a lay-up that would have cut the defeciet to 12 points going into the half. In the 3rd quater the panthers flat out blew Sullivan out of the gym with a 25-8 performance keyed by Landon Snoddy's two 3 pointers. Snoddy had a 15 point 3rd quater. In the 4th quater the Warriors continued to fight and won the quater 19-14, but it just was too little too late. Sullivan was led by great performances by Sammy D'agostino and Brent Thompson who contribute 17 and 16 points. Brent Thompson also had a great defensive game holding Woodlawn's most powerful weapon James Collins to 9 points. Coach Hart said " Woodlawn really does deserve alot of credit." "They are ranked number 2 in the State at the 4-A level and they really deserve it." "We came into the game knowing we could not match-up with this team, so we had to try some gimmick defenses." "These defenses were sucessful in the most part." "We hoped that no one else would step up to the challenge." "Until the third quater we were in the game then out of nowhere other players like Snoddy and Ogunride stepped up their game." "They just have so many weapons and so much size it is really hard to stop them." "I am so proud of the guys for playing so hard for us tonight." "They never gave up and really executed well." "Sammy is a stud and is really becoming a wonderful player." "I am also really impressed with Brent Thompson's performance. "I asked him to step up and start scoring and he accepted the challenge." "Brent also did a great job leading our team tonight." "I talked to Coach Almond, Woodlawn's coach, and he had a few words to say about the guys." Coach Almond said "your guys really have alot of heart and would not back down to us all night." "You new every one of our plays and really disrupted what we were trying to do on the offensive end." "I am really impressed with how well prepared you guys were." "We had to have some players step up and they did." "Keep fighting hard and the wins will come." "Good Luck guys." The Warriors will face the Plaquemine Green Devils Friday night at Plaquemine High School. The Varsity Game is set to start at around 7:00. 3pt Field Goals: Sullivan 3 (D'agostino-2, Farr-1) Plaquemine 4 (Pickney-2, Johnson-1, Gillis-1)
Commentary: The Warriors faced the Plaquemine Green Devils Friday night. D'agostino led the Warriors with a strong 24 point performance. The Warriors played a close game but were unable to convert easy shots at the end of the game. Coach Hart said " this was a crucial game." "We must now win 4 out of our next 5 games to enable us to make it to the play-offs." "It can be done, but it is gonna take alot of Heart and Pride to pull this off." "We were in the game the entire time we just couldn't get the lead." "We went bonehead a few times which resulted in some key turnovers for our opponents." "Offensively I feel we executed pretty well, we just have to make the easy ones including free throws and lay-ups." "Defensively we adjusted well, but we still do not attack the boards." "We have people that are spectating too much on the court when a shot goes up." "Because of a lack of size and a lack of jumping ability we must have 5 people hitting the defensive boards every shot." "We can't afford to have teams in our District getting second shot attempts." "Until we fix these problems we will have the same outcomes." Kyle Purgatorio said "their were to many turnovers and we lacked patience in the 4th quater." "The guys really played hard at the end, but they couldn't quite pull ahead." The Warriors will play the McKinley Panthers Tuesday night at the Temple of Doom. Tip off for the varsity game is set for 7:00. Hope to se ya there!

3pt Field Goals: Sullivan 1 (Mosby) McKinley 4 (Wilson-3, Robertson-1)
Commentary: What a game! If you missed it you missed one of the best games at the TEMPLE OF DOOM in three years. In the 1st quater both teams came out cold, especially the Warriors who shot terrible from the 3pt line. In the second quater the Warriors were still cold, but because of a great defensive stand they were able to keep McKinley from taking a large lead. At the half McKinley lead the Warriors 15-13. Once again the Warriors gave a poor performance in the 3rd quater as the panthers took a 10 point lead heading into the 4th quater. Due to great offensive execution the Warriors were able to cut the 10 point defeict with 30 seconds left to go in the game. The Warriors ran an up screen to Brent Thompson for a 3 pointer with a few seconds to go, but the shot was not sucessful. Jonathan "Stew" Stewart came up with the rebound and put it in to tie the game right before the final horn to put the Warriors and Panthers into overtime. In the 1st overtime both teams jocked for position but were unable to convert. The Panthers made a steal and converted the lay-up to take a two point advantage. Coach Fernandez called a time out with less than a minute remaing to set up a clear out for Samuel D'agostino. The play busted but D'agostino was able to create on his own to hit a jumper from the right corner to send the game into a second overtime. In the second overtime the Warriors were able to convert due to strong offensive performances by Farr and D'agostino. Good defensive pressure and foul problems were the demise of the Panthers, and the Warriors were able to pull out with a great win. The Warriors were led in scoring by D'agostino (15) and Farr (9). Coach Hart said " tonight we just refused to lose." "That game was won strictly on determination." "We had an extensive game plan that coach Fernandez put together, and the guys really executed it perfectly." "Jonathan Stewart flat out shut "The Mountain" (Jonathan Banks: 6'8 only God knows how many pounds!) down." "He did the best job I have ever seen on a threatning post." "I am very proud of him." "Sammy (The Italian Stallion) had a great offensive performance, but I am more proud of him for the way he crashed the boards." "He wanted the ball so he went and got it." " If this team would have killed us on the offensive boards we wouldn't have had a chance at winning this game." "I saw it in his eyes before the game that he was determined to do whatever it took to win this game." "I am also really proud of Brant Ruiz whom did a great job also on Banks and on the offensive end." "We have challenged him to step up his game and he did." "Jeff Farr also did a great job composing himself late in the game and he came through big for us." "Overall it was a great emotional victory and the guys really deserve this win." Coach Fernandez said, "wow what a game." "The guys put it all out on the floor tonight." "We must enjoy this victory but still prepare for the next." "It's not gonna be easy, but with a little sweat and preparation we can do the amazing." Thank you fans for the wonderful support tonight. Y'all really gave us a 6th man on the court. The Warriors will play Lee High at Lee High on Friday night. It is a must win situation so come out and help us beat the Rebels. C-Ya at the Game!!!!
