The Hawthorn recruiters had targeted Brett O'Farrell since midway through the 1998 season, and after alot of hard work we got our man. But the most important player in this trade was Paul Salmon he helped convince the young swan to come over to Hawthorn.

O'farrell is one of the most promising young players inthe competion a ruckman/forward O'farrell is a top overhaed mark and is a great prospect up forward but when the time is right he will be ready to play ruck after fish has retired.
