Oxford City Council have announced that the first of the two public
consultation meetings in relation to the plan to restart the stadium will
take place on Friday 16th April. The meeting will be held at Blackbird
Leys Leisure Centre at 7:30pm. FOUL would urge as many Oxford supporters
as possible to turn out for this meeting and show their support for the
rescue package agreed between Firoz Kassam and the City Council.
A second meeting is also planned for Littlemore but no dates are available for this yet.
FOUL will be carrying out an opinion survey around the Blackbird Leys area before next weeks public meeting to gauge local resident's opinions for ourselves. If anybody would like to help out with this survey then please let us know by email or meet outside the supporters club at 6:30 on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evening next week.
Yesterday FOUL had a meeting with the Green Party Councillors on Oxford City Council. As previously reported it was the Green party councillors who tried to refer the clubs recent planning application to the Government Office for the South East (GOSE) so it was important that we met to understand each others position.
The Greens are obviously torn between their principals against out of town leisure developments and the fact that a multiplex development at Minchery Farm is the only way to save the club. FOUL explained in some detail the financial position of the club as we understand it and why the multiplex development is crucial to its survival. Mike Woodin who sits on the planning committee explained why he would have to vote against such an application, due to his party's position, but that he would not be contacting GOSE again and certainly wouldn't be mounting any campaigns to have it stopped.
FOUL Mouth 3 will be mailed out to members next week and will be posted here on the FOUL web site in the next day or so.
