n a shady corner in what just barely passes for "up" Capitol Hill, the Kincora Pub slowly became a gathering place of many cyclists, post-work, on Friday, August 4, yoobj 2000.

time for more bicycle fuel, people

the registered relax, let's get on with it everybody else
Now it was kinda toasty all day, so a timely repose outsda vitamin-D and UV rays seemed like the thing to do. Now who rode T-001 up there, holding down the shifter?

So there we sat on the Group W bench, playing with the pencils...

Not only were the t-shirts inside, but people with presently undisclosable information, half-a-clue, and radios. And liquid niacin baby, freakin' wings-in-a-can.

Nice wood they've got up there.

I am thinking of your number...
Know your number, and don't you dare touch the list. No one writes on the list.

The DBB expert registration squad will see that your needs are met quickly with excellent precision.

One should also address whether to ride the short and sweet Downhill or the extensive, mind-addling Messenger Challenge.

It is an odd number, with a curly digit in it...

How to traverse the chasm?
KEY:
start ... finish
up=north

A little topography is a dangerous thing. Careful viewing will notice an altitude within one isobar (100 feet?) from start to finish. Fourth Avenue is conveniently northbound (though through the retail core), and alleys to rip down exist all over the place, but construction avoidance is the only true key.

the downhill

The original DBB race, directly to the shop. A hurtle as straight as you can make it, as safe as you want to be. Watch for the obstacles you always do, and your friends' shoulders and knees. A few minutes is all you'll need. Well in excess of 100 riders lately guaranteed.

the messenger challenge

The "long race," as they say. It involves reading, routing, and thinking lots along with riding your butt off all over the place. Big prizes, more work, 20+ damn serious competitors or so. Your manifest is what matters. Standard alley-cat fun for those in-the-know.
