Snooker news from the premier team in Gwynedd.
Me and Trigger have managed to reach the semi-finals of the North Wales Pairs competition.
We beat Tony Thomas and his partner 3-0 in a less than thrilling 1/4 final in Holywell.
I'll keep you informed about the forthcoming match(es!).
I dont know about you, I've always used a make of tip called Blue Diamond. Everyone of any standing I know about uses them as well. In order to speed up the 'bedding in' of a new tip I use the following procedure.
- Carefully prepare the cue as normal.
- Take a thin (1mm) shaving of the flat side of the tip.
- Put a drop of super-glue onto the cut face and allow it to dry.
- Sand the prepared face as smooth as possible.
- Stick it onto the cue using the afore-mentioned adhesive.
- Dress the tip as normal, then, with the cue ball in my left hand and my cue in the right, BASH IT TO BUGGERY. Redress the tip, chalk up, then FIZZZZZZZ.
So there you have it. this method was given to me by Keith Moran. A little known, but admired guru of the game from Bolton.
Do you have a better way? A different make of tip? Let me know. I'll publish the best ones.
Hey! Attention any teams out there reading this! Maybe we could arrange a challenge match. Send me an Email here and lets see if we can sort one out. We'd all love a cheap holiday playing snooker and seeing the sights wouldn't we?!
Not sure if you want to trail all the way from wherever you are, Malta, Sydney, New York, Helsinki or Bolton for a game of snooker against some dodgy players on crappy tables? Here are a few links to the area.

- Portmeirion (remember The Prisoner TV show?)
- Harlech, a students guide. One of the old students from Coleg Harlech did this site as a project.
It may give you an unbiased account of the town.
