| (From 1979-80 Season...) |
| Another wrestler to come to San Jose State grappling from Sunnyvale High School, Brian Keith Canali is 18 years
old. While at Sunnyvale, he was coached by Steve McKeown. At SHS, he was a four-time letterman in wrestling and
a two-time league champion. His senior year he placed 1st in the Region and 3rd in the Central Coast Section championships.
A 103-pounder in high school, Brian will go at 118 for the Spartans. An avid fisherman when he's off the mats,
Brian is a general studies major. Born 11-23-60 in Redwood City, Calif. |

| (From 1980-81 Season...) |
| A very, very dedicated wrestler, Brian Keith Canali is a sophomore returnee from last year's Spartan squad. In
dual meets, Brian tallied a 2-0 mark with a 0-3 tourney slate for a 2-3 overall record. The 1980 SJSU "Storyteller-of-the-Year"
will wrestle at 118 pounds. A zoology major, Brian loves to fish. |

| (From 1981-82 Season...) |
| A very talented returnee from last year, Brian is a junior. After a 2-3 season as a freshman, "Pepe"
came on strong last year to notch a 19-7 record. In dual meets he was 6-1 while his tourney slate read 13-6. He
wrestled a great deal over the spring and summer, participating in the National AAU Greco-roman and Freestyle Championships.
He place 3rd in the University Games Freestyle Trials and 1st in the Greco Trials. Culminated his competition by
being named to the University Games Greco-Roman Team at 125.5 pounds. Traveling to Bucharest, Romania, Brian wrestled
to a 1-2 slate, beating the Hungarian while losing to the 4th and 5th place winners from Turkey and Japan. In the
1981 season, Brian placed 2nd in the SJSU Mumby Invitational, 2nd in the Doc Peterson Open, 1st at the Arrowhead
Open, and 2nd at the Biola Invitational. His favorite hobbies are fishing with his father and storytelling...sometimes
he even mixes his two hobbies. Brian's brother, Steve, is in the process of signing a contract with RCA for his
rock group. Brian is an art major. |

| (From 1983-84 Season...) |
| Again, as the year before, Brian was plagued by a neck injury which required surgery and kept him from competing
in the 1982-83 season. However, "Pepe" has been anxiously awaiting his chance to wrestle in the 1983-84
season. "Brian traditionally trains hard the year around, so he should go a long way for us this year,"
says Coach Kerr. This past spring, Brian continued his tradition of being an outstanding Greco wrestler by capturing
the State Greco Title. During the summer, Brian trained intensely for his trip to Colorado, where he placed 1st
in the National Sports Festival Greco-Roman Pre-Trials. He topped his trip off with a 2nd place finish in the Sports
Festival Greco-Roman competition at 125.5 pounds. Brian is an occupational-therapy major and a senior. |
