One of the "old men" on the 1979 SJSU wrestling roster. James M. Rey is one of the senior mainstays for the Spartans. He will wrestle at 177-pounds this season. His three-year SJSU career mark is 29-37-1, including 9-12-1 (1976), 9-15 (1977), and 11-10 (1978). And he is a three-time All-PCAA selection. Rey came to SJSU from Buchser High in Santa Clara, where he competed in football (4 years), track and field (2 years) and wrestling (4 years). He wrestled for Coach Manuel Aragon at Buchser and finished 4th in the Central Coast Regionals at 165-pounds. He is a business accounting major with an advertising minor. He would like to coach and have a career in advertising after his SJSU graduation. Born 8-16-57 in Red Bluff, Ca.
