| (From 1978-79 Season...) |
| One of the returnees adding experienced youth to the Spartan mat program, Reggie L. Thompson brings a 5-7 SJSU
career record into the 1979 season. He will wrestle at 150 and 158-pounds this season. The younger brother of former
Spartan wrestling standout Brewster Thompson, Reggie came to SJSU from North Salinas High School where he competed
under Coach Vern Baxter and was all-league and placed 1st in the regionals, 2nd in CCS and 5th in the California
State Meet. Competed four seasons in football as well. He is a business administration major. Born 3-10-59 in Manvell,
Ark. |

| (From 1979-80 Season...) |
| Reggie Thompson brings a 12-16 SJSU career record into the 1980 season. He will wrestle at 158 and 167-pounds this
year. The one-time letter winner had a 1978-79 record of 4-5 in dual meets and 3-4 in tournaments for an overall
slate of 7-9 with one fall. Coach Kerr is expecting great things from Reggie this year as the junior is figured
to blossom. |

| (From 1980-81 Season...) |
| Another top returnee from last year's PCAA championship team, Reggie is a senior mainstay for the Spartans. He
will wrestle at 158-pounds this season. Enjoying his most successful season yet, "Reg" went 28-13 in
the 1980 campaign with a 10-7 dual meet record and 18-6 tourney mark. Reggie ended last season on a disappointing
note as he lost in the PCAA finals and just missed qualifying for the NCAA Championships. Earlier in the season,
however, he met with success by taking a 3rd in the SJSU Mumby Invitational, 1st at the Beehive Tourney, and a
4th at the Midlands Championships. |
