V65 Magna!
The scoop and then some! And maybe a few other things. In the spring of 84 I had saved enough money to buy me a bike. So I set out to find the ultimate motorcycle. As I shopped around at the various dealers comparing prices and looks, I finally narrowed it down to two choices. It was either going to be the V65 or the Kawasaki LTD 1100. What amazed me the most is not only was the V65 cheaper in price, But it was also better looking, faster and had shaft drive and a liquid cooling system. Two features that Kawasaki wasn't offering with the LTD. So the choice was clear and I set off on an adventure that would change my life forever. I had heard about the V65 and how fast it was so deep inside I think I already knew that was going to be my choice in the end. And as fate would have it, my choice was not in vain. It took two weeks to get my first baby ordered in and man was I chomping at the bit when I arrived to pick her up. They were just getting her put together when I showed up and to my disappointment I was not the one to get to put her first miles on her. 1.6 miles is what the odometer read when I finally climbed aboard after the Honda dealer had taken her for a test drive as to "initiate the warranty" they said. After that the rest is history Until only three short years later I was forced to sell her due to financial problems. Then the quest gegan to find another one!!!!
Built in 1986, This perfect magna was found in Rock Springs Wyo. I saw it advertised in the paper with the words "Showroom New".
"Yea right" were the first words out of my mouth. I had seen showroom new before and for the most part what I had found I wouldn't want to wish on the annoying neighbor down the street. I called and made an appointment to see this so called wonder. When I arrived an older gentleman came out of the house and said "So your hear to see the bike?" He hit the button on the garage door opener and as it slowly started to rise and I began to catch a glimpse of what was inside I nearly fell over backwards. Here was the most perfect V65 I had seen since I sold my first baby in 1987. A V65 that I had purchased new in 84. Needless to say I did not hesitate to give him the $3,500 asking price and floating on cloud nine, drove my new baby home with a smile that has not yet left my face.

To be continued!!!!!
Isn't she sweet!
