Coach Strait was loved by the kids of Cuero, Texas and he loved those kids as well. I have known Edwin since 1994 and I am proud to call him my friend. In five years I never heard him say bad things about anyone. He always looked for the good in people. He was always telling the kids to try and not do the things he did when he was younger. We will always remember his crazy laugh, his big 'ol smile, and the way he loved to cook. I told my wife once after I first met him, I think that Coach Strait would give you anything he had if you needed it. And I still believe that. We shared some great times with the kids at Cuero High School. I know he will be missed but I also know that he will not be forgotten.
