Introduction

By the Summer of 1914 all of the major powers in Europe had ambitious naval construction programmes underway , and several of the smaller countries were joining in with mini naval races of their own .
This part of the site is dedicated to the ships which were never completed , either because of the war , or in the case of Japan due to the Washington Treaty .
The links below do work and take you to pages where , initially , I have concentrated on uploading photographs of the incomplete vessels .
