| Seydlitz |
This German battlecruiser was completed in 1912 and fought at the Battles of Dogger Bank and Jutland as part of Admiral Hipper's scouting force . Her severe damage at Dogger Bank enabled the Germans to learn some of the lessons about unstable cordite that were to cost their opponents dear at Jutland . Seydlitz was again severely damaged at Jutland , having to beached in the estuary before being towed into harbour and extensively repaired . She survived the war to be scuttled at Scapa Flow in June 1919 | ||||||||||||||||

Russian predreadnought battleship completed in 1903 . She served with the Far Eastern Fleet during the Russo-Japanese War and was interned at Kiaochau after the Battle of the Yellow Sea in August 1904 . During the First World War she served with the Baltic Fleet . Her most notable engagement was , in the company of the slightly newer battleship Slava , against the German dreadnought Kronprinz at MoonSound in 1917 . Slava was sunk but Tsesarevitch survived . She was renamed Grashdanin at the Russian Revolution and was scrapped in the early 1920s . | Tsesarevitch | ||||||||||||||||

Japanese predreadnought battleship completed just prioer to the war with Russia . She was Admiral Togo's flagship throughout that war , and served in that capacity at the overwhelming victory at TsuShima . Sunk by an internal explosion , she was raised and was later retired as a national monmument . During the Second World War she was again sunk , this time by American bombing raids on Yokosuka . Repaired again she survives , encased in concrete , as the only vessel of her type still in existence . | ||||||||||||||||
