A little info about myself...

I live in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada with my wonderful wife Adriana and three great kids, Halima,10, Hamlin, 13, and Aliyah, 17.

I am 45 years old.

I started playing golf at 11 and continued until I was about 17, getting down to a 13 handicap. I've played very little in my adult years (becoming a hippy for a while got me away from the game) though I still drool at the site of a nice course. As a kid, I used to cut out beautiful pictures of golf courses from Golf Digest and make a scrapbook with them. Also, I would use pencil crayons to draw out whole courses on paper and pretend I was playing them, making up games with dice. I also had a chipping course in my yard all around the house. I played Leaderboard on my C64, then all the Links games before checking out JN4, which disappointed me, but then was hooked by JN5. I never play LS anymore.

My other main interest is Celtic fiddle playing, you know, all that Irish stuff like Riverdance etc. I've been doing that for 1 1/2 years and having a blast.

I have a very modest career at the moment, as a duty team driver for the daily newspaper, which means I look after an area of the city each morning and mop up any routes that lack carriers and missed or shorted papers, generally a troubleshooter.

I don't seem to get into online gaming much, just because I can't quite relate to connecting with people in such a limited way. Email and forum writing seems to work for me though.

I tried designing a few holes in JN4 and enjoyed it somewhat, but found it mentally draining and a lot of work for only a small amount to show for it. Textures seem to give me a more instant form of gratification which I guess I need to keep interested.

BTW, Jack Nicklaus has been my hero since I was 11, so it's a huge thrill to be connected to anything with his name on it. I liked him even when everyone else still liked Arnie. I hope his name stays on this game in some way, if only for that high regard I have for him.

I really enjoy being a part of the JN5 community and celebrating the ever increasing levels of excellence that all the course designers keep attaining and aspiring to. I can only put so much time into computer stuff, but what I can has been made much more enjoyable since I connected with all you people under the JN banner.
