The silent assassin

"He is certainly one of the most dominating
defensive players in the league, without any
question," Mariucci said. "He felt like last year
that he missed a little bit of practice time and
a little bit of game time because of some injuries,
and I know he's bound and determined to
have a sensational year this year again."

"Well, if every team had a Bryant Young, they
would feel real good about their defensive line
situation," Mariucci gushed. "He's a class act.
He's not only a great, great player, but he's
a great person."

"He's the kind of guy where you think you have
him blocked, and you don't," Wiegert said.
"He'll spin off, do whatever it takes to get to the
ball. So you have to try to match his effort,
which is hard to do. It doesn't matter what the
situation is, he's willing to do what ever it takes
to get the job done."

"He's the kind of player that if you're up 40 points
or down 30 points, it doesn't matter; he's going to
go the same tempo," Wiegert said. "It doesn't matter
who he's going against. He's going to give the same
effort on every snap and you better pack your lunch
when you're blocking him." - St. Louis Rams guard
Zach Wiegert

"I've never seen a guy that does every rep almost
perfect every time. That's just something to
see." - 49ers linebacker Jeff Posey

"He goes nonstop until the whistle blows play-in and
play-out," Garcia said. "You can have a guy that's
extremely good for one or two plays, but he brings it
every play, and I think that's what makes him one of
the best players in the NFL." - Carolina Panthers
center Frank Garcia

"I always try to lead by example," Young said.
"Your actions should speak louder than your words.
I just work hard every second and let my play
speak for me. When I do have something to say,
I try to make what I say count."
