FWF at Obrex, Glasgow, Scotland. Hammer's first career loss came against the Ravishing Raver, of all people. Raver used a foreign object to seal the tainted victory. Hammer challenged Raver to a rematch and Raver left the FWF!

FWF at Naples Stadium, Venice, Italy. Hammer dealt superstar Iron Warrior his first FWF loss when he forced a submission out of Warrior with his Figure Four Deathlock in 22:20. They would meet again.

FWF at Toronto Gardens, Toronto, Canada. Hammer defeated former FWF World Champion TNT in a Cage match when TNT submitted to a Hammer Cobra Clutch in 12:17.

EWC at EWC Arena, Brixton, England. Brute Hammer made his EWC debut by defeating the Hitman and the Iron Warrior in a 3 Way Falls Count Anywhere match, Hammer eliminated both opponents himself.

FWF at Root’s Hall, California. Hammer took on the hated Hulk Hogan in a I Quit match, with the referee distracted, Hammer broke Hogan’s kneecap with his hammer, Hogan submitting before Hammer even applied his Figure Four.

FWF ‘Chaotic Combat’ PPV. Hammer drew No.21, later in the bout Hammer was stalling on the outside and was shocked when he was counted out??! he complained that "there wasn’t a countout stipulation!!" but it was to no avail.

FWF at Clover Complex, Dublin, Ireland. It was Boot Camp action again as Hammer took on Brad Beefcake, Hammer has to be threatened with a DQ for excessive violence before he could be convinced to pin the hapless barber.

Hammer teamed with the Suicide Squad of Destiny, Wild Angel & Trigger in a elimination match to take on the Violent Desire team of Vulture, Tom Hawker, Fuzzy Rae and Electron. Brute himself eliminated Electron, Fuzzy Rae and Trigger?!? Brute was eventually eliminated by Hawker who was the soul survivor from his team.

EWC United European title tournament, Brute defeated Freddie Kruggerand in Rd1 via submission, Brute defeated Ultimate Gladiator in Rd2 via submission, Brute defeated both Hans Van Dam and Iron Warrior in a 3 Way Semi-Final match, In the Final Brute forced Gua Nomme to black out in his Modified Figure Four thus becoming the inuagral EWC United European Champion.

EWC at EWC Arena. Hammer took on Mr Blonde in a none title Shoot-fight, a typically brutal EWC match was concluded with a Mr Blonde submission in Hammer’s devastating Arm Crosslock.

FWF Summertime Showdown at Kursaai Pavillion, Southend, England. In a 'Hammer's House of Horrors' Loser Leaves FWF match Brute did as he said he would, when he forced Dustin to black out in his Figure Four Deathlock in 19:39 and retired him from the FWF. Brute applied a Arm Crosslock and was about to break Dustin's arm until Iron Warrior broke in to the cage ko'd Hammer with some bolt cutters.

FWF ‘Beach Bum Brawl’ at Beach Gardens, Bahamas. Hammer took on the woefully inadequate Little Big Man, Hammer played with his opponent until he finished him with his Pain Killer arm-lock submission

EWC at EWC Arena, Brixton, England. Brute defended his EWC title against current BWA World Champion Iron Warrior in a 'Hammer's House of Horrors' Cage match when he forced Warrior to submit to a Arm Crosslock. The bout was considered a absolute classic.

EWC at EWC Arena, Brixton, England. Brute lost his EWC title in a Boot Camp Ladder Match in a match against the man who he defeated in the tourney final, Gua Nomme. Nomme retrieved both belts and won the title, 'No Excuses?'.

EWC at EWC Arena, his second match of the night! Brute Hammer shocked the world when he was reveiled to be the mystery partner of the Iron Warrior just prior to a cage match against the Warmongers. Hammer and Warrior proceeded to easily defeat their extremely shocked opponents.

CNW debut at National Guard Armory, NJ. ‘The Day Before the Bash’. Despite dominating his GWA world title match against champion the Worshipper, Brute was pinned in 27:45 following a splash, a controversial result though as Worshippers manager was in the ring at the time. The CNW Ringside report (magazine) later reported the official result was a No Contest!?!?! Following the result, Hammer walked out of the CNW.

PWS debut at PWS ‘Survival’ PPV. Hammer put together his team of Shootfright, comprising of himself, Red Tyler and Ultimate Gladiator to try to win the Survival event (six man elimination tourney) and claim the first PWS World Six Man titles. Shootfright defeated the PWS New Faces in their first match but lost Tyler by DQ in the process, in the semi-final Shootfright defeated Velvets Crew but lost U.Gladiator when he was pinned. The Final saw Brute Hammer (Shootfright) against Mailman (All Stars), Hammer pinned Mailman when he was trapped in a Modifed Figure Four thus gaining the victory and Six Man titles for Shootfright.

EWC at EWC Arena, Brixton, England ‘12 Way Falls Count Anywhere Eliminator’ for the EWC Brass Knux tag title. Together with his new partner Iron Warrior they managed to survive as one of the last two teams, Warrior was pinned but a very courageous effort from the partnership known as the ‘Team From Hell’. The scheduled main event should have been Worshipper Vs Hangman but the hard-core fans were given a choice, that match or a hard-core dream match, Brute Hammer Vs Legion, they chose the later and following some amazing action which ended up in the street, both Hammer and Legion were arrested!

PWS Friday Night Thunder. Due to contractual problems, Red Tyler and Ultimate Gladiator walked out of the PWS, meaning that Shootfright was finished and the Six Man titles were held up. Hammer cut an interview saying he enjoyed his stay in the PWS but with the demise of his team he felt he must leave the PWS for the moment.

NFW debut. ‘King of the Crazies’ Hard-core tournament Rd.1. Hammer teamed with Atsushi Suzaki to face Nature Boy & Braw Macavity in a Boot camp, Glazed Fist, Barbed Wire Bunkhouse Brawl. Hammer won the match following a K(i)LL to Macavity to proceed to Rd.2.

GWA debut at the Auction Room, Plant City, Florida. ‘Friday Night from Florida’. Hammer made a suprise appearance at the beginning of the show, now known as ‘Hard-core’ Brute Hammer, and challenged GWA World Champion Bret Blaze, saying that he "was robbed of the GWA title by the Worshipper and the CNW". Blaze excepted the challenge and both athletes wrestled to a surprisingly clean 45 minute time limit draw. Following the bout, Blaze said he respected Hammer and Hammer gave Blaze a K(i)LL for his trouble.

NFW ‘King of the Crazies’ Rd.2. Hammer defeated Atsushi Suzaki in a Glazed Fist Boot Camp bout following a Backdrop Driver. Hammer moved on to the semi-final to face the Hitman in a 2/3 Falls Comes as u r/Boot Camp, Hitman eventually winning this epic battle 2 falls to 1.

EWC at EWC Arena, Brixton, England. Hammer fought The Hitman in a Explosive Barbed Wire Boot Camp Match to a bloody and brutal No Decision when both men were unable to continue and rushed to hospital !

W*F*W debut. Hammer defeated current W*F*W European Champion Legionnaire in a none title match following a K(i)LL. Following an interview and challenge from the Dude, Hammer accepted the challenge then proceeded to defeat the Dude and retire him from the W*F*W !! What a debut night !!!

W*F*W. Hammer again defeated his long time nemesis and friend the Iron Warrior in a Barbed Wire Cage encounter.

UKWF debut. GBH wrestled under a mask in the disguise of Gua Nomme against his former Shootfright partner Red Tyler in a ‘shootfight’. Tyler claimed he could beat GBH until GBH hit his K(i)LL and won via KO, then unmasking to reveal Brute Hammer !

W*F*W. Hammer defeated the WFW Royal Champion Ghost Rider in a Falls Count Anywhere Bootcamp match, the pin coming by the way of a chair assisted K(i)LL. At last Hammer takes his 2nd singles championship.

UKWF Coastal Chaos 1997. Hammer defended his W*F*W/UKWF Royal title against No.1 contender Deathshead, Hammer finished this titanic battle with his patented K(i)LL.
19.04.97.
NFW Wrestle Nova PPV. Hammer was granted a none title match against NFW World Champion Iron Warrior in a Boot Camp bout. Shockingly Warrior voluntarily put his world title up just prior to the bout and following some classic action, Brute Hammer walked away with a 100yd Dash K(i)LL assisted win and his first ‘World’ title !

W*F*W. Another day at the office for Hammer, as the WFW magazine put it "GBH was his usual devastating self and Enforcer was beaten in quick time after being hit with the K(i)LL".

W*F*W. Hammer faced the ‘King of the Ring’ Vulture in a defence of his Royal Title. A close, hard fought contest for both athletes saw them kick from each others finishes, Hammer caught Vulture in a inside cradle for the victory.
20.09.97.
BCW 'Warzone 1997'. GBH made his BCW debut in a one off shot to align with 'Team Hitman' in their Elimination Cage match in order to get his hands on their opponents The Empire of the Shadows and specifically Akira Shinzaki! GBH Shinzaki with his awesome Gladiator Guillotine Choke sending Shinzaki into unconsciousness. GBH, Deathshead & Cape Connection survive to go through to the battle royal finale. Following a shocking incident where Hitman relinquished the BCW World title and walked out of the promotion it was decided that the winner of the Warzone Battle-royal would be crowned the new BCW World Champ. The 11 man battle royal came down to GBH and Toscar Lopez, GBH sending Toscar over the ropes with a shoot-kick to claim the BCW World Title!
