Raw is Wank

Opening the show was a address from Vince McMahon on the extremely tragic news of the death of Brian Pillman, a very touching moment with the entire roster showing respect for a great wrestler and incredible personality!

Next up with an interview with the 'Click', even with all the stitches in his head, Shawn still failing miserably to look 'hard'! HBK and HHH, hey are you only allowed initials if you're a member of the Click?….. HBK and HHH look and sounds like a couple of little boys, Chyna looking the toughest member of their stable!…… a pretty feeble stable for sure! The first of tonight's RIW 'desperate acts' (to catch up with WCW and specifically align the click with the nWo) was to show some footage from Madison Square Garden showing Diesel and Razor with HBK and Hunter……… the nWo is a WCW product, live with it Mac!!

Following the break, a match? Nah! More interviews…….. the Hart Foundation, very truthful if very lacking any charisma whatsoever. Luckily only Bret went in to a war of words with the Click as he's the only one who can interview competently…….. everything he said about HBK was in my view 100% on the money, HBK a talentless degenerate…… that kinda sums it up 4 me! More interview brought the 2nd reference of the night to the men formally known as Diesel and Razor, all through Bret's 'from the hart' interview the 'Prick' looked silly and immature, not nWo 4 sure! HBK walks around like a constipated duck, talking with a even more annoying voice than Randy Savage if you can imagine that!

Next up was the first plug of the night for the 'Melanie Pillman' interview. Whether this interview was right or not is not really an issue, the issue is a interview of this kind shouldn't have been used as a way of bumping up a tv rating, in this aspect the interview and constant plugging was in my opinion in very bad taste indeed!

Ok, next up was a 'wrestling bout'…… like HELLO!!!! So this is a wrestling show after all! Well it was a wrestling match in name only, can The Godwinns and the Headbangers be described as wrestlers? Only very very loosely I think. The Goodwinns…… Tag Team Champions? Good grief!….. the WWF tag team scene is worse than even *I* thought. The Goodwinns as Champions says more about the tag situation in this promotion than I ever could. Match rating - *, absolutely appalling, for a title match especially. Match number two, hey we're on a roll here! The *new* Mark Mero versus Miguel Prez Jr., Mero with a new attitude and new look, fitting with the current WWF trend, the new look was very dull and unimaginative, his wrestling ability has disappeared in favor of boxing skills. Mero debuting a new (or stolen) hold……the 'Diamond Cutter'……. BANG! goes Meros career with the cool move, will Mero be self high fiving next week? Match highlight was Sable in her leather! Match rating - **, these men can do so much better than this!

A pretty poor wrestling show continued in the same vein with a infantile and 'green-eyed' interview by one Jimmy Cornette. The brief lowlights saw Jim admitting he loved Ric Flair and Arn Anderson, bet he wishes he still worked for WCW! "As far as I'm concerned………." Cornette is jealous as hell of the success of the nWo, was that McMahons hand I saw coming out of Jimmys backside? Childless, obnoxious…… I think this applies to Cornette not Eric Bischoff. If Cornet thinks the nWo is so disgusting then why is he promoting them? Kevin Nash, a big no talent? Errrr well, Nash had been atop the WWF for ages so ok maybe he is!….nah, Nash is one of the best big guys and one of the most charismatic men in the sport. Nash went to WCW for a bigger contract? Errr yes, so? wrestling is a business, just shows Nash has good business sense. The WWF made Kevin Nash a star? *BUZZER* wrong again, Kevin Nash made Kevin Nash a star! Scott Hall (as a wrestler) is the best of the bunch? *BUZZER* wrong again, how can Scott Hall be more talented than Syxx??!??….. now we know for sure Cornette knows nothing about wrestling! 123 Kid (Syxx) wasn't a valuable player in the WWF? *BUZZER* not doing too well here Jimmy boy, 123 Kid hit most of the WWFs PPVs and was involved in so many great matches too, guess that makes you a valueless player in the WWF….. if you do have talent! Bischoff "throws money around like water", so? that's his job, he signs the best talent there is, it's understandable the WWF and Cornette is jealous (of WCWs stars) with the kind of misfits the WWF have got on the roster. Free advertising for WCW anyway, I'm sure Eric Bischoff is very grateful!

Match number three, Davey Boy Smith versus Rocky 'Diarrhoea', a very weak match. For a hungry wrestler Rocky looks really crap and lacking while the Bulldog looked slow and bored. Match rating - **.

Match number four…. Match Classic…….ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!! Crush versus Yokozuna. This is exactly what I'd expect from a WWF classic. Match rating - *. Lets face it, promotions who put old matches on their tv shows just don't have the roster to fill a show, which certainly applies to the WWF. I guess this means the fat one Yokozuna is coming back……….. oh dear!

The 2nd part of RIW, the War Zone, could things get any worse? Very very doubtful. Austin interviews! Hurrah! A typically excellent interview from Austin, who is absolutely carrying this sorry promotion, Austin is a legend, but one man cannot carry a promotion, not even Steve Austin and that's the bottom line 'cause Jason Desire said so! Doesn't it disgust you that the WWF is pushing Stone Cold as a face? makes me wanna puke to be honest! Match number five, Road Warrior Hawk challenges Owen Hart for the Intercontinental Title. Didn't they have any singles wrestlers to challenge Owen? Owen is the secondary title holder in the WWF? he's a decent lightheavyweight but Intercontinental Champion is pushing it a bit far I think! Typical WWF low-impact wrestling, a plethora a feeble blows and holds. Match rating **1/2. Followed by the INTERVIEW. A sad and touching interview even with Mac at the mic, but I don't think it should've been used to bump up RIW ratings! Just how low with Vinny stoop……. Pretty bloody low is the answer. They showed a video tribute voiced over by Jim Ross, but spookily after the WWF has plugged WCW for the entire show they never mentioned that Brian spent the majority of his wrestling career and gained his greatest success in the WCW.

Next up the dead mans former manager, Paul Bearer introducing Kane, the Undertakers brother, here we go again! doesn't the Undertakers life seem a lot like a soap opera? Actually under the tacky outfit was every new gimmicks friend Glen Jacobs. Kane choke-slammed a couple of prelims, ho-hum. Jim Ross says he's 7' tall……. well I don't know who he was referring to but it couldn't have been Kane who looked 6'5" tops!

Match number six, Bret Hart versus 'Triple H'. More references to Diesel, Razor and WCW in this bout. Hart typically technical and no nonsense, HHH being a good prospect still as he was in WCW, doesn't look any better than he did in WCW actually, still just a potential star.

The End. I won't make the mistake of watching this show again!
