Alumni Game Summary
NISS Alumni vs North IslandThis game started off with a bang for the Norsemen, as they got up 22-3 before the conclusion of the first quarter. Of course it was Mark Smith leading the offence, as he scored the first 7 points of the game. The second quarter saw a bit of a collapse for the current NISS team, though. A 14-0 run brought the Alumni back within 6 by the end of the first half. Then the dominance on rebounding and a superior team speed permitted North Island's current team to burst their way to a dominating 30 point lead. Doug Petrie made his return from an injury at this game, and played a few minutes to get back into game condition. 6'10" centre Shaun Laing had another incredible game, scoring 27 points and registering an unofficial rebounding total of around 20. A three-pointer and a dunk attempt (thwarted by a foul) highlighted the game for the big-man. Coming off the bench Andrew Boyle hit a couple threes. Nearly the entire roster registered on the scoresheet in this great game by NISS.Final : NISS Alumni(58) - North Island(85)
