BUBBLBubble Time

(OWINGS MILLS) Its that time of year again… Bubble time is here and no were not talking March Madness, were talking about the National Football League.  Some cuts are easier then others but this year it seems that a lot of the cuts for the Ravens are much more difficult to decide.  As the Ravens get better and better there are fewer spot available, yet there is still the same amount of talent trying out.  So lets take a look at all the players on the bubble and asses each of their chances of making the team.

List of players on the bubble:

Robert Arnaud
Jason Brookins
Jay Graham
Alan Ricard
Brandon Stokley
Marcus Nash
Germany Thompson
Greg Delong
Ryan Collins
John Jones
Orlando Bobo
Carl Powell
Marques Douglas
Jerrett Loggins
Anthony Davis
Brad Jackson
Anthony Mitchell
Jermaine Smith
Clarence Love
Richard Mercier
Cedric Woodard
Sammy Williams

Definitely Gone:

Alan Ricard- He's not that good, doesn't look like he belongs on the same field with the other FB's…  Femmi and Gash make the team… Ricard is out especially with the team's strategy to try to sign Evans back after week 13.

Germany Thompson- Marcus Nash and Brandon Stokley are battling for the final WR spot and Thompson has no chance of getting in on that battle so he will be cut with either Nash or Stokley.  He might have a chance at the practice squad.

Carl Powell- He has played well during camp but it's a #'s thing with him.  Adalius Thomas has really played well and he should make the team at DE.

Jarrett Logins- Another #'s thing with him… The return of the "Goose" seals his fate.

Jermaine Smith- Smith played well in the scrimmage against Washington but didn't build on that performance throughout the rest of camp.

Clarence Love-He never really showed much of anything throughout training camp.

Probably Gone:

Jay Graham- He has had three years to prove something and he has yet to do so… Its time to part way's with this guy.  He's injured so some type of settlement might have to be reached.

Orlando Bobo- The team likes Denson better then Bobo.

Cedric Wooderd- He hasn't done much in training camp and "Goose" is back… I think that they will put him on the practice squad.

Marques Douglas- he showed a lot over in NFL Europe but it's a #'s thing with Douglas.  With Goose, Adams, Chase, and Dalton all in the fold I just cant see the Ravens taking a 5th defensive tackle.

THE FINAL 6:

Sammy Williams- He played his way off the team against Carolina.

Richard Mercier- This guy in my opinion is a definate for the practice squad assuming he clears waivers.

Greg Delong- Delong has been on the bubble since the beginning of camp and as of late there has been something going on with him… I think he either gets cut or is put on the IR.

3 battles still yet to be decided

RB, Brookins Vs Arnaud- This is a tough one to call because both have played well in games and during practice.  Arnaud's injury could be a major factor…  Whoever gets cut will be signed to the practice squad.

Who makes the team- Jason Brookins

TE, Collins vs Jones- Billick and the staff really likes Jones athleticism and they also like that he can play special teams… Collins was the pleasant surprise at the end of last season who has had a pretty good camp as well. In my opinion this has been the toughest battle throughout camp.

Who makes the team- Ryan Collins, with Jones signed to the practice squad

WR, Stokley vs Nash- I have no clue who make the team and who doesn't!  Both of these guys have not done anything in camp to improve their chances of making the team… Stokley has been dropping balls, and Nash was hurt.  Up until a couple days ago I would have said that this spot would be Stokley's because of Nash's Injury, but now I'm not so sure.  Nash is back practicing and this decision might come down to how Stokley played against the Giants in the last pre-season game.  One more note:  CBSSPORTSLINE is reporting that a lot of teams are interested in signing Stokley if he gets cut.

Who makes the team- Brandon Stokley

So there you have it… The 16 cuts broken down… Well atleast my opinion anyway
