Today we flew to Guilin, it was another easy two hour flight.  There were not a lot of people on the flight so we were all able to get a window seat.  It was raining as we came in, but the landscaping was absolutely gorgeous.  Guilin's population is around 700,000 people, which is quite smaller than Beijing and Xian.  Guilin has more recently been noted as a tourist location.  The Li River brings in the tourists, the beautiful and peaceful surroundings keep them coming back.   We met a new Tour Guide today, James.  James was very helpful and definitely went out of his way to make our time in Guilin and Yangshuo a very special trip.   "Generally speaking," that is.  Ha Ha.  Our first site we visited was Elephant Hill.  We were told that the rain was seen as paradise in Guilin.  It was a warm and pleasant rain.  (If that is at all possible.) We then went to Fubo Hill where it is told that the General Fubo came to sharpen his sword.  There were all kinds of Buddha carvings inside the hill, but unfortunately during the Cultural Revolution many of them were destroyed.  Some of us walked up to the top of the hill to get a bird eye view of the city.  We then stopped at a Protestant Church, there are only around 1,000 members in Guilin.  After dinner we were allowed free time, some people took advantage of the foot massage, some of us went and saw the Coma rant Fishing on the Li River, some took walks ( watch out for the scam artists, John) "Camsay!"  And some went swimming.
