We flew to Shanghai and met a new guide, Vivian. She took us to see the Bund when we first landed. The Bund is the boardwalk along the river in Shanghai. The architecture along the Bund is mixed with German, British and Chinese. We walked along the shopping district and some of us even tasted the McDonald's. No worry it tastes exactly the same as in America. That night we stayed at the Shanghai Holiday Inn. It was a very big hotel. At dinner we had our first and only egg rolls of the trip. Some of us walked over to the Train Station and observed the Chinese getting on and off the trains, we saw the differences of travel on the trains, there were sleeping cars, dinner cars and what they call Hard seats and soft seats.
