Man on 1b, no out, grounder to ss Mitchell. Mitchell flips to 2b Pawlik for the force. The runner tries to break up the double play by waiving his hands above his head, yelling "boola, boola, boola" and sliding late into 2b. Pawlik is in park atop 2b and steps left to avoid the runner and fires late to 1b. Runner lets out an "oooohaaah", as his left ankle turned out >45 degrees and stayed there. Mitchell is yelling "Call an ambulance." An ambulance call was made immediately with cell phone technology and the fire ambulance arrived at 2b ~10 minutes later. Luckily the Arsonists are firemen by trade and were able to care for their wounded teammate until help arrived. The guy was carted aboard the ambulance and driven off the field. Play resumed but the ambulance was parked at the exit of the ballpark. Pawlik asked the Arsonist 3rd baseman what was happening in the ambulance. The 3rd baseman said they were starting an IV, administering morphine and possibly trying to reset the joint.
The next time you see an Arsonist, please convey sympathies for their fallen comrade.
