RED DEER SEA ANGLING CLUB
LIST OF RULES
GENERAL.
1) The name of the club shall be “THE RED DEER SEA ANGLING CLUB”.
2) The headquarters of the club shall be The New Inn Public House,
Hounsdown, Totton, Hampshire.SO40 7EP.Tel 023 80660480
3) The club shall have a committee comprising of a chairman, secretary,
treasurer and committee members.
4) A meeting of club members shall be held on the first Wednesday of every
second month(FEB.APR.JUN.AUG.OCT.DEC.)
5) The club season shall run from April 1st to March 31st
6) All club events to be run under N.F.S.A.rules.
7) Two boat stewards shall keep records of the catch for all trips where points
are awarded.
8) Anglers may only use one rod with a maximum of two hooks.Where a large
bait is fished with a large hook and a retaining hook, this shall count as one
shall count as one hook. A maximum of three hooks may be used while
feathering to score points for any species other than mackerel.
9) The treasurer shall present a balance sheet of club accounts every year at
the AGM.
10) THE DECISION OF THE COMMITTEE IS FINAL.
SUBSCRIPTIONS.
11) Monthly subscriptions shall be Two Pounds and Fifty Pence,payable six
months in advance, FEBRUARY and AUGUST.
12) Fully paid up members shall have priority on club trips.
CHARTER TRIPS.
13) To avoid overcrowding, charter trips will be restricted to Ten anglers
maximum.
14) A rota system will be in operation to ensure that all anglers have an equal
opportunity to secure places on trips through the season.
15) Names for charter trip places should be placed on the list on the notice
board fourteen days before the date of the trip.This is to allow time to fill
the boat with non members if necessary, try to get £10 deposit
from those not known to us.
16) The club shall require fourteen days minimum notice of cancellation.
Members cancelling within the last fourteen days before a trip shall pay
their full share unless substitute anglers are found.
17) Special circumstances concerning cancellation within this fourteen day
period will be considered by the committee whose decision is final.
18) In the case of cancelled trips the rota system shall remain unaltered
therefor the rota for the following trip shall be the same as the rota for the
cancelled trip.
19) To minimise the disadvantage caused by missing out on trips due to the
rota system the club championship shall be decided on the best seven
charter trips of each angler.
20) At the end of a session when the skipper says “LINES UP” all anglers are
are to retreive their lines unless they have a DEFINITE BITE.
21) If anglers on a charter trip request the skipper to extend the duration of the
trip, points will not be awarded for any fish caught during this extra time.
22) A draw for positions on the boat will be made during the trip from the
harbour to the first fishing mark. Pairs will be made up from these positions
If an angler is drawn on his own his points shall count double except
specimen points.
23) Points shall be awarded according to the official club table of points,
available for each species.
24) Any angler catching a fish with a weight equalling or exceeding the Wessex
area specimen size shall receive an extra 25 points
25) If a fish is lost at the gunnel whilst trying to land humanely prior to its
release the skipper is to estimate the weight and points will be awarded
accordingly
26) Any angler representing the club in a competition through becoming club
champion or runner-up where the competition falls on the same day as a
club trip shall receive an average score from the club trip diisregarding
any specimen points.
27) No points shall be awarded for any fish caught that is included in the
N.F.S.A. mini-species record list.

All tope and female smoothhounds to be returned.
One point only for pouting and dogfish, otherwise points are as on
the specimen points list.
