This is an overview of the stamps (and a bit of postal history) of the Ryukyu Islands
from the first 1948 U.S. occupation issue through its return to Japan on May 15, 1972.
It was prepared originally as a slide presentation for the Rochester Philatelic Association in
2001, then submitted to the APS slide show library. This is a web adaptation of that work.
