The Blades are probably the least physical team in the east and lacking in a real physical presence. Derek Halldorson would be the closest thing the Blades have to a heavyweight, though he wins about as often as Rob Ray. Chris Chubb and Warren Peters are also willing to battle when needed.  After these two guys it thins out with Garnet Exelby, Justin Kelly and Jeff Coulter being the only other guys who show a willingness to drop the gloves once in a while. Big but reluctant Darcy Robinson would be much more effective if he joined the fray once in a while, however he doesn't seem to have that element in his game. The Blades won't want to play too much smash mouth hockey with other eastern teams and will need to use the "team toughness" theory to keep the dogs at bay.

Warren Peters
C...6'1"...180lbs...07/10/82
Hasn't been very busy so far this year and isn't really a great scrapper but he does show up and add toughness to a team not blessed with a load of it. Never going to enter the top ten, but he fills a need on a "shy" Blades team sorely missing last years tough guy Darcy Hordichuk

Chris Chubb
D...6'2"...200lbs...08/21/80
Chris will likely be in the top ten next month after moving over from the central division. Chris was brought in too add toughness to the line up and thus far hasn't disappointed with a couple scraps in November alone. Willing combatant who shows up every night and plays hard though not blessed with an abundance of talent.

Jeff Coulter
LW...6'0"...198lbs...01/02/82
Jeff has stepped to the plate of late and consequently has worked his way into our top ten rankings.  For more on Jeff go to "The Mayon Event"...east division.
After approx. 40 games played.

The Blades are still  the least physical team in the east and lacking in a real physical presence. Derek Halldorson would be the closest thing the Blades have to a heavyweight, though he wins about as often as Rob Ray.  Warren Peters is also willing to battle when needed.  After these two guys it thins out with  Justin Kelly and Jeff Coulter being the only other guys who show a willingness to drop the gloves once in a while. Coulter looks like he may be applying for the enforcer job on the Blades roster as he is the only one dropping 'em on a consistent basis. Big but reluctant Darcy Robinson has been dealt to the Red Deer Rebels for the playoff run, although he was offering little in the way of toughness anyway. The Blades won't want to play too much smash mouth hockey with other eastern teams and will need to use the "team toughness" theory to keep the dogs at bay for the rest of the season.
