The Wheaties aren't loaded with toughness but have enough players who are willing to show up. Ponte can and will go with anyone, winning more than he loses, while Jordin Tootoo will battle any middleweight and not lose too often either. After these two it becomes toughness by committee with Mark Ardelan, Kevin Harris and Nolan Yonkman willing to get involved, though not noted scrappers. The Wheaties aren't going to run many teams out of the building, but they're not going to back down when the going gets tough either

Jordin Tootoo
RW...5'9"...182lbs...02/02/83
This guy plays like Wendel Clark...with reckless abandon and a fiery temper. Not going to be fighting any heavyweights, but anyone in his weightclass better keep their head up and watch for the runaway train.

Kevin Harris
D...6'0"...197lbs...01/27/82
Not a known scrapper, however he'll stand up for his teammates and defend himself as well.

Travis "You know you're soaking in it" Eagles
C...6'4"...190lbs...05/05/81
Big strong forward who hasn't scrapped a lot lately, possibly due to diminished ice time in PG but with a fresh start Travis may just show us what he's made of.

Nolan Yonkman
D...6'6"...215lbs...04/01/81
Not a great fighter but he'll go when he has to and with his size doesn't get in trouble too often. On ocassion when he has the fire in his belly Nolan can even lay out the odd one sided beating.

Randy Ponte
LW...5'11"...202lbs...03/27/81
This guy will probably spend most, if not all of the season in our top ten.  For more on Randy click on "The Mayon Event" east division..

After approx 40 games

Ponte hasn't been as busy for the Wheaties this season and part of it may have to do with the W/Kings not being a very aggressive group as a whole, thus not getting into many slugfests. The supporting cast in Brandon outside of Jordin Tootoo can't leave Ponte feeling too secure about who's watching his back either. Ardelan, Yonkman and Harris will go on occaision but none really make the opposition shake.  If the future is what the Wheatkings are waiting for, there  will need to be sone toughness somewhere on the depth chart.
