The Broncos have two legitimate heavyweights in Matt Sommerfield and up and comer Colton Orr. Both of these guys will fight all the other heavyweights and fair just fine. Other guys who will chip in when needed are Ben Oindrus, James Hiebert and Dean Serdachny, though most of the Broncos are willing to stand up and be counted should the game go that way. The Broncos are fortunate to have two solid heavyweights in Orr and Sommerfield, however specualtion is rampant that a few teams are after Sommerfeld and if the price is right, I'm sure the Broncos will consider it. A little more grit on the back end might help the Broncos but overall, they are a team that can take the game to the alley and do just fine. |
Matt Sommerfeld LW...6'2"...203lbs...04/26/82 See "The Mayon Event"...east division for more info on Matt. |
Dean Serdachny D...6'2"...214lbs...01/17/80 Tough customer who doesn't fight all that often. Arms seem very long and he's tough to hit in a scrap. Seems to wrestle and try to find an opening when he fights. Also can throw big hits when it moves him. |
The Broncos have one legitimate heavyweight left in Matt Sommerfeld with up and comer Colton Orr having been dealt to the Kamloops Blazers earlier in the year.. Sommerfeld can go with any other heavyweights and fare just fine.. Other guys who will chip in when needed are Ben Oindrus, James Hiebert and Dean Serdachny, though most of the Broncos are willing to stand up and be counted should the game go that way. The loss of Orr may cost the Broncos down the stretch as teams start to try intimidating other possible playoff rivals. A little more grit on the back end might have helped the Broncos, but overall, they are a team that can take the game to the alley and do just fine.
