Darren "I'm no Sarah" McLachlan
LW
|
Monster seventeen year old finally decided to
get in the mood in November and had a seven fight card with some of the
toughest hombres in the league including Kaz, Jorde, Boychuk, Ponte, Sommerfeld,
Chris Barr and Bowen, impressive to say the least which boosts him from
four to number one in the west this month. This guy is going to be heard
from for a while as he is big, mean and has a reputation for liking to
scrap, but he has some skills which makes me think at times he tries to
be more of a skill guy than a banger and crasher.

Derek "Boogey Man" Boogaard
LW
|
Boogey goes from one to two after McLachlan had
a big month and Boogaard didn't overwhelm anyone with devastating showings.
His fight card included Derek Parker twice, Jeff Smith, Ryan Jorde and
Jon Mirasty, all quality opponents, but Derek hasn't been pounding anyone
into submission which he should be for a guy as big as he is. Still a guy
worth watching when the gloves drop however.

Eric "Roller hockey" Bowen
RW
|
Eric is rapidly becoming one of my favourites.
He doesn't fight with a lot of skill, but he certainly can throw bombs
and isn't afraid to go as he showed with an improved month and with quality
opponents. Fights included Jeff Smith, David Boychuk, Darren McLachlan
and Kaz, all tough guys. Eric ain't the prettiest skater or fighter, but
man you know he's around when he often misses his attempts at big hits,
but rattles the hell out of the boards. I hope this kid improves his skill
because he sure looks like a gamer when he plays, working hard every shift.

Colton "Don't call me Bobby" Orr
RW
|
Three fights, two of which were in the east division
with Grant McNeil and Jordan Clarke. His only fight for Kamloops since
being acquired from the Broncos was with Ice newcomer Joe Degenstein,
a monster of a kid that Orr just destroyed. Colton is ranked high
but his twelve fights so far this year put him with the best the division
has to offer. Big winger who loves to crash and bang should be a huge fan
favourite in Kamloops.

David "How much knuckle can a" Boychuk
Defence
|
David has finally started dropping the gloves
which moves him up five spots and he could come close to number one if
he keeps it up. David is a big kid who punches hard and plays nasty. Fights
included McLachlan, Bowen and Lee. Spokane isn't an overly tough team and
they need David to play with his game face on every night.

Ryan "Yawannago" Jorde
Defence
|
Three fights this month, the newcomer for Tri-City
via Lethbridge fought McLachlan, Boogaard and Kaz which earns him kudos
for not ducking any of the tough guys. Look for Ryan to challenge for a
higher spot as he gets more games under his belt in the west division.
Big kid doesn't win 'em all but he certainly shows up and is counted each
game.

Dion "The mad roper" Lassu
Defence
|
The former Ice captain has two fights in a Thunderbird
uniform and they were with Kent Sauer and Kaz, two big guys. May have ranked
Dion too low in this month's top ten, but if he plays the way we know he
can, Dion will certainly move up as he punches very hard and is a smart
fighter that has knock out power.

Mike "Wild Man" Lee
RW
|
Slow month for Mike, but his two fights were with
true heavyweights in Jon Mirasty and David Boychuk. Mike needs to be more
consistent and play with a mean streak every night, which in my opinion
he doesn't do often enough. Definitely underrated this month, Mike needs
to pick it up in the months to come.

Keegan "I wanna be a heavyweight" McAvoy
RW
|
A middleweight mixing it up with the big boys,
something he's been doing all season drops a couple spots but not for lack
of courage. Four fights including Chris Chubb, Randy Ponte, Chad Grisdale,
Joey Hope, with three of the four being good scrappers. Like his heart
and the fact he obviously doesn't pick his spots.

Jeff "I'm back" Feniak
Defence
|
Biiig drop for Jeff this month as he only had a couple scraps and a guy with his size needs to be more active. Likes to hit and plays it pretty physical but doesn't appear to have a real nasty streak which could explain his on again, off again fight totals. On a big, physical team Jeff needs to be more of a leader and set the tone for some of the young guys.
