Welcome to Chicago's Premier Amatuer Baseball League! Who We Are...
In the heart of Chicago, in the shadow of the Sears Tower, the Skyscraper Baseball League hosts the city's best amatuer baseball action. Former and future professionals, area college stars, and players who play for the love of the game, all converge on Flames Field at the corner of Halsted St. and Roosevelt Rd. from May to August to compete for the League Championship and city bragging rights.
Nine area teams will compete in the upcoming 2001 season. Games are played nearly every night of the week as well as Saturday and Sunday afternoons. A state-of-the-art sound system, public address announcer, and electronic scoreboard help spectators follow the action. College certified umpires call all the balls and strikes and a concession stand is open at all games.
Alvin gets ready to call the game from the press box.
