Cowbridge Match Report

Here we go again, another Sunday morning, another match report !
A sodden ground meant that the match was strewn with handling mistakes and made kicking difficult. The match also suffered from very poor refereeing.
Stupid decision number one saw Jon Ellis dispatched to the sin bin at the end of the first half - for talking, though not to referee but to his Captain !
Stupid decision number two saw the referee wave play on and take no action as Mike Lewis (Bod) lay unconscious in his own 25 after being flattened by a very late tackle.  Apart from 10 minutes at the end when they rallied, Cowbridge never looked as if they were capable of crossing the Blaengarw line. Their 3 points came from a penalty in the first 20 minutes.
Blaengarw pulled themselves together in the second half with Jamie Davies and Ian Bell scoring a try apiece. Not a convincing performance but - importantly - an away win to maintain the unbeaten record.
A week off next week to recharge the batteries and prepare for the local derby against Pontycymmer on 10 February.

Steve and I both wish that the Christmas season and the New Year holidays bring you and your club renewed fortune for the rest of the 2001 season, and best of luck for the competition ahead.
Of course we are basking in 30 degree heat here in New Zealand and will be both of us, at the beach with our families over the summer break, but please feel free to thaw out those typing fingers and drop us a line to let us know how you are getting on.

Xmas greetings and a Happy New Year to you all.

Could you let me know if a decision has been made on this request yet?
Thanking you in anticipation.
