Home of the Twin Cities Businessmen and now...Purple Pride!
Those darn Businessmen! Come and enjoy all your favorite Businessmen moments!
The Twin Cities Businessmen proudly announce that they have merged with Purple Pride Apparel and Sales of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. The men's D team will play their home games in Champlin on Sunday nights. The winning ways will certainly continue for years to come. The roster reads as if it is a who's who of local softball. Former players help fill out this years squad.
The Purple Pride team will certainly create havoc with all teams who step on the field.
Corey expected to supply the power! Corey had better supply the power!
Corey Tanner will be looked upon to fill much of the team's power needs in 1999. The younger brother of team leader Joe tanner, expects a banner season and will provide experience in the outfield and infield. Gone are such players like Itchy and Chad, Brian and Larry Hanson. Corey needs to lead both from the field and the plate. Especially with players like Don Osweiler starting to show their age. Thirty nine year old Joe Tanner is leading the team with a .736 average. Pitcher Rich Branham is laying claim to being the walk leader. Good luck to Rich in that category.

It has been a nice ride......
Terry Andrews has once again stunned the softball world when he announced the State tourney would be his last. "A retirement is never an easy thing" said Joe Tanner "But Terry is like an old bear, he knows its time to find an old log to go roll up in. We'll miss him terribly....."Terry's wife Paula summed it up the best. "Terry approached me a few nights ago, his eyes brimming with tears. He knows his skills have been eroding for the past five years and he has heard the whispers about his talents being gone. He felt that his ability to play at the level he is used to is gone. We hugged and shared our grief together. He will miss the game and fellow players greatly. His love for the game was unmeasurable. One thing for certain, you will not see Terry in a uniform after this. We plan on having a special night for Terry, one where close friends can share a passing dish and relive the memories that they had together." One of the players plans on collecting all of Terry's jerseys and placing them on to a collage. Terry has returned again! He also has suffered a possible career ending injury to his throwing hand. Team officials have huddled around the meeting table to discuss options in case he can't return.
